Train deliveries of timber from Värmland

Since the autumn of 2017 Bjernared is buying timber from Värmland to complement the production. The timber from Värmland is considered to be of a higher quality compared to what we source in close proximity to our mill. Even though the locally sourced timber is perfectly fine for production of carcassing timber of high quality, some of our specialty products for the domestic market requires a higher level of quality timber logs.

In order to keep the climate impact down we are transporting this timber by train from Kil to Halmstad. One of these trains arrived this past weekend. 1100 m³fub loaded on 16 wagons, each measuring 18m. This was the fourth train from Värmland to be delivered to us during 2020 and we look forward to more deliveries in 2021!
