A proud family business

We are a proud family business from Halland that during the last 75 years has grown and developed into a modern sawmill that can saw what other mills cannot. Below you can read about our journey so far.

The first sawmill starts in Bjernared, powered by a crude oil engine.

The paraffin lanterns are turned off and the sawmill light is from now on powered by electricity.

The first forklift is purchased.

A new saw house with new and used machinery is built at Bjernareds. All machinery is now powered by electricity.

The demand for cellulose chips increases within the pulp industry, leading us to invest in a new bark- and cutter machine. The raw material now consists mainly of 18 m long timber, cut into requested lengths using a tape measure and a chainsaw.

Denmark and the Faeroe Islands are the major markets during this time. The assortment consists of fresh sawn beams reaching a maximum of 9 meters, mainly used for construction.

A root reducer is installed. The first modern wheel loader and truck are purchased.

A completely new sawmill is built with both new and renovated machines.

New bark machine.

The first kiln drier is installed and put into use.

A Biofuel boiler replaces the old oil boiler.

The new chambers for the kiln drier is installed to keep up with the increased demand for kiln dried products.

New feeding silo for fuel is installed to the boiler.

We implement a machine for C24 strength grading for our construction timber products.

New operating system is installed in the saw line.

The ERP system WinSaw is installed. A system that enabled computer handling of products, stock, contracts, call-off, deliveries, invoices and production planning.

A new office building with a conference room was built next to the sawmill building. The sawmill area is fenced off with an automatic gate.

New storage facility for wood shavings is built.

The combination sorting line is re-built accompanied with a new control system. Rosgrade is installed for machine strength grading (replaces previous Computormatic) A new storage building for sawn products is built.

Safety adaptation of the sawmill is made according to national environmental requirements.

Construction begins for the new 1400m2 planing line. It will allow us to plane products up to 100 mm thick and 3000 mm wide. The planing line includes a double band saw from AKE that provides us the possibility to cut and split products to our customers exact needs.

Bjernareds Sågverk’s 70th anniversery.

The new planing line is done and put into use. Yearly production is now 25 000 m3+.

A new control system is installed in the kiln driers to make the drying process more efficient.

The planing line gets additional capacity with exact cutting blades from Almab and strength grading from Dynagrade. This gives us even more capabilities in the planing line.

Point scanner and turner from Limab is installed in the planing line.

The planing line gets an automatic banding frame from Fromm. Increasing capacity and removes repetitive tasks for our employees.

We are building a completely new log sorting facility. This will optimize the logistic at the sawmill and enable future growth and additional storage.

To protect our business and employees we are installing a sprinkler facility with a 750m3 water tank covering the planing line at first and the sawmill building in next phase.
